General Information

Camp High Sierra is owned and operated by the Department of Recreation and Parks. The camp is situated amid towering snow-clad mountains in the picturesque Mammoth Lakes region, and is open during the summer months for family camper, trailer, cabin and tent camping. Amenities include tables and firepit at each campsite, as well as hot shower and sanitary facilities, and a historic recreation lodge.

Camp High Sierra is a family-oriented facility. The camp is staff by well qualified, experienced people. When visiting the camp, the campers must be aware of the diversity of the wildlife sometimes seen in camp: bears, coyotes, raccoons, deer, etc. So please campers, please be aware and be careful.

Dogs are welcome in camp, but must remain with you at all times. They must also be on leash when they are outdoors, inside with you at night, with you when you are away from your cabin or campsite, and always kept as quiet as possible.
