Public Information: Aidan's Place, located in Westwood Park, opened on December 5, 2001 in memory of Aidan James who was wheelchair bound. It is the second West Coast Universally Accessible Playground created by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks in conjunction width the Boundless Playground Resource Center West.

This is a fully-accessible disabled children's playground or Universally Accessible Playground (UAP). It operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Facility Hours Of Operation:
Monday - Friday:  8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Facility Features: The Airplane: Young pilots and co-pilots will enjoy a fully-accessible cockpit loaded with features. They can communicate with the Control Tower via a talk tube radio and plan their route on the navigation panels.

Accessible Slides: The accessible slides lead to rubberized surfacing designed for children with mobility challenges.

Sand Castle: Our Sand Castle is located a foot above the sand and features wide walkways throughout, allowing children of all abilities to scoop, build, and discover at elevated sand tables.  

Water Play: Water offers a wonderful sensory experience for all children but is denied to many children with disabilities.
