Final Mitigated Negative Declaration Project Name: DOCUMENT NO. MND-RP-09-439 RIVERSIDE DRIVE OUTDOOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT PDF Council District: 13 Metro Region Project Address: The project is located northeast of downtown Los Angeles in the Silver Lake–Echo Park–Elysian Valley Community, west of the intersection of Riverside Drive and Stadium Way. Interstate 5 is located northeast of the site across Riverside Drive, and State Route 2 is located approximately 0.5 mile to the northwest. Project Description: The proposed project involves the development of the approximately 18-acre site in two phases with recreational amenities suitable for both active and passive recreational use located in the Silver Lake-Echo Park-Elysian Valley Community. Phase I of the proposed project would involve development of approximately 5 acres of recreational and supporting elements, including: multi-purpose game courts; a multi-purpose sports field; picnic and play areas; nature interpretive area and outdoor classroom; and supporting infrastructure (e.g.: extension of utilities and incorporation of bio-swales to capture storm water runoff). Phase II of the project includes the construction and operation of a 2,500 square –foot community building with restrooms near the sports field and play area along Riverside Drive; scenic viewpoint improvements. Additionally, a trail system would be developed in Phase II. Primary access to the project site would be from Riverside Drive; however, there would also be access to the upper level via Landa Street.
Adoption of the MND The Board of Recreation and Park Commissioners will consider the Final MND and Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan for adoption at its regularly scheduled meeting on January 20, 2010 at the Expo Center located at 3990 South Menlo Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90037 beginning at 9:30 AM.
