Course Description

Penmar Municipal Golf Course was designed by David Kent and opened in 1962. It is a beautifully landscaped executive 9-hole course located in Venice, CA. This short regulation course offers a variety of challenges and is an excellent opportunity to brush up on your short game. Penmar, because of it's proximity to Venice Beach provides a cool golfing experience during the hot summer months. The Penmar Recreation Center is located across the street.

LOCAL RULES OF GOLF
  1. The first 6 groups of the day MUST set a pace of under 1 hour and 45 minutes. If this is a problem for your group, please play later in the day so as not to impair the pace of play for the rest of the golfers.
  2. Out of Bounds - is defined by the perimeter fence and on the left side of #9 by the white O.B. stakes and the area to the left of the service road. No Relief.
  3. Protective Fences & Service Roads - play as immovable objects. If they interfere with a stance or swing, drop at the nearest point of relief plus one club length no nearer the hole, without penalty.
  4. Ball on Wrong Green or Tee - MUST be dropped at nearest point of relief plus one club length no nearer the hole, without penalty.
  5. Carts MUST be kept OFF tees and away from all greens.
  6. Yardages from colored posts are measured to the center of the green: Blue-200 yds, White-150 yds, Red-100 yds, Yellow-50 yds. Orange distance flag in the #2 and #6 fairways is 200 yards from white tees.
  7. On the Tee - Short hitters and beginners hit first. Keep Practice swings to a minimum. NO MULLIGANS!
  8. On the Fairway - Limit practice swings. Select club and hit without delay. Help search for lost balls AFTER you hit your shot. Limit search for lost balls to 3 minutes.
  9. On the Green - Place clubs between green and next tee. Study your putt while others are putting. Use continuous putting.
  10. IMPORTANT NOTE: If your group is falling behind, as soon as the first person putts out, go to the next tee and tee off.
