Help Griffith Park Recover From the Fire...
Habitat Restoration:
Volunteers Needed Today!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays during Spring 2008, volunteers are needed to remove invasive plants
quickly overgrowing the burn area*.
These invasives are competing with the native plants
for light, water, and nutrients. The wildlife of Griffith Park need you to help the native
plants that provide their food, water and shelter.

*Volunteer work ranges from light to heavy duty. School teachers (6th grade and up) are encouraged
to volunteer with their classes and can contact their regular transportation providers
for free or reduced school-day-use of their school buses for this service learning
field trip. Other groups are welcome.

Griffith Park Visitor Center Office Assistant:
Position primarily involves answering phone calls and
providing updated Griffith Park
information. Volunteers will receive
training. This requires the ability to kindly educate the pubic on park
ordinances.
Park Guide Assistant:
Volunteers assist Interpretive Rangers in coordinating and leading hikes.
Resource Volunteer:
For those individuals offering their professional skills to the department.
PLEASE NOTE: All positions at the ranger station will require a background check and fingerprinting is required.
